F-Secure, Heuristics and which is best?

Hi all,

It’s the same old question which virus scanner should I be using with my
MailScanner! We are looking at supplying our ADSL customers with virus
protection with MailScanner; I was originally looking clam (first choice for
obvious reasons) and f-prot, mcafee and sophos as I have used them before
with MailScanner and all seemed pretty good.

To cut a long story short I have asked f-prot and sophos twice for a quote
but no replies yet
.please feel free to mail me offline if you know a good
supplier for the UK. I spoke to our McAfee reseller today and licensing is a
bit awkward as it's (as with most per user and per year) he suggest F-secure
may be more appropriate as its per server and he said had the best Heuristic
detection in the market all for £230ish per server! Here come the questions
:-)

- I haven't used F-Secure does anyone know how quick are the updates are?

- Does the default MailScanner wrapper activate heuristic scanning? If not
can this be enabled?

- I have had least trouble with sophos historically, but recently reading
this list they seem to have been a bit slow updating their signatures. Is
this still the case and has it caused many issues?

Sorry for so many question some of which may be a little off topic.

Thanks

Hywel
