From address does not match dns info

All:
I'm working on an outbound mail delivery problem and was wondering if it is
common practice to block messages as spam if the From: domain does not match
the domain name for the mail server sending the messages.
Example: I send a message from jburzenski at mydomain.com through
mail.company1.net (I work at company1.net and am allowed to relay based on
my IP address).
Thanks.
