Not completely on topic, but yesterday I ran some tests with my box
which isn't completely into production yet, we hit it with roughly 4000
pieces of mail, it cleared those 4000 pieces within 30 minutes, and the
machine sending them was having to queue them outgoing as well, so it
may have been able to do it faster.

I have my mailscanner work area on a tmpfs, and the machine is a dual
xeon 2.4ghz with 2GB of RAM with 2x73GB

Which brings me to one more question, is there anything I can do to make
use of that second 73Gb SCSI to help performance? Right now everything
runs off of the main SCSI drive, no doubt if I can split it between the
two, it'll help it further.

Exim won't allow the two spools (var/spool/exim and /var/spool/exim.in)
to be on different disks. My only idea right now is to move all logging
to the second SCSI drive.

Ideas?

Nick
