I had to disable the double extension rule because it's so frequently
used by engineering/design folks inside this agency and contractors
outside, sending files to one another as attachments.

Yes, I know. SMTP was not designed as a file transfer method, but
that is a separate rant which will come out once I've achieved the
correct temperature and pressure. At the moment both are below
the red line.

We don't really have an alternative solution that is acceptable to
all the participants, and so are stuck using SMTP as "least bad".
