fprot not able to clean viruses?

thanks all for providing the useful info....i tried the scanner and it can
work on quarantine dirs of mailscanner....detect and clean or delete the
virus
but not on mailboxes residing in /var/spool/mail...

That doesn't stop MailScanner removing the attachment after F-Prot has said
it's infected.
