I think there is a faq entry on performance. Things like running the
incoming MS queue in tmpfs, optimizing some settings in
MailScanner.conf, gettting rid of dead/dying RBL lists can help speed
things up. Of course the hardware you are using, and how many
messages/day you are processing play into this as well. We've seen spam
double, then double again in the last year.
Definitely do the upgrade. SA 2.60 has some dead rbls removed, and is
better at identifying spam. The MS upgrade is mostly painless too, with
a few possible minor gotchas... (just watch the logs).
