in _my_ opinion the reasons were given  ;-)
- this was my first result after Sophos.install:

the same happend with "/usr/lib/MailScanner/sophos-wrapper ."
- i think that sophos surely not for fun provides:
linux.intel.libc6.glibc.2.2.tar.Z  linux.intel.libc6.tar.Z
$ rpm -q glibc
glibc-2.2.5-43
- i am able to install and keep my virus-scanner up2date with my own
scripts.
