what do you mean is the function of icheckd ?

original reply from sophos in summer 2003
--------

my free translation:
the ICHECKD - intercheck-daemon under unix is equivalent to the
intercheck-server under windows! and is only usable for non-unix
workstations!

there exist none intercheck-client for linux (on-access-scanning). only
immediately-start or a periodically scan via cron-job.

afaik the icheckd (unix) or intercheck-server (windows) is needed for
automatically update of the windows-clients from the server if a new
sweep-version or new ides are available via the central-installation
(rollout-nomber in the sav.cfg)
