MIME::Pasrser errors..

I'm seeing exactly the same behaviour on a BSD box with Perl 5.8.0 on it.
It claims to have the latest IO::File as well, but even running as
root.wheel it still produces the same error you are getting.

I can't see the problem. I didn't really want to have to dig into the
innards of IO::File :-(

If you find a cure, please let me know!
