tmpfs size recommendations

Hello,

How much RAM should I allocate to a tmpfs for
/var/spool/MailScanner/incoming/ considering in about 1 day monitoring I
saw sizes up to 10GB for that directory.

Would I gain anything with a 512MB tmpfs?  What would happen if MS
needed more than 512MB?
