I installed a new MailScanner(4.22-5) server Friday with SA (2.55), DCC
and Razor. Antivirus is being handled by f-prot and rav. Everything
seems to be working fine under a light load -about 100 emails have gone
thru since friday. I decided to stress test by sending 200 emails thru
as fast as possible took 1 ½ minutes for server to receive them. I
checked logs and found lots of these errors. Sendmail is version 8.11.6
on RH 7.1.
lots of these
Jul 7 02:12:39 testsystem MailScanner[22304]: Failed to lock
+</var/spool/mqueue.in/dfh677AV620223 with unexpected error: No locks
available
And then a bunch of these
Jul 7 03:43:12 testsystem sendmail[3788]: h678cfu00497: SYSERR(root):
cannot flock(/etc/mail/mailertable.db, fd=7, type=1, omode=37777777777,
euid=0): No locks available
Jul 7 03:43:12 testsystem sendmail[3788]: h678cfu00497: SYSERR(root):
cannot flock(/etc/mail/virtusertable.db, fd=8, type=1,
omode=37777777777, euid=0): No locks available
Jul 7 03:43:12 testsystem sendmail[3788]: h678cfu00497: SYSERR(root):
cannot flock(/etc/mail/virtusertable.db, fd=8, type=1,
omode=37777777777, euid=0): No locks available
Jul 7 03:43:12 testsystem sendmail[3788]: h678cfu00497: SYSERR(root):
cannot flock(/etc/aliases.db, fd=9, type=1, omode=37777777777, euid=0):
No locks available
Jul 7 03:43:12 testsystem sendmail[3788]: h678cfu00497: SYSERR(root):
cannot flock(/etc/mail/statistics, fd=10, type=2, omode=37777777777,
euid=0): No locks available
All emails did come thru and all where scored by SA.
I ran the 200 email test a 2nd time and only 176 emails came thru
could be tester though, on a 2nd system I lost 4 out 200 but showed no
errors. Also had 3 errors with DCC on 2nd run.
dccproc[2264]: fcntl(F_SETLKW F_WRLCK DCC-map /var/dcc/map 3): No locks
available
Any ideas? Googling for answers but not getting anywhere.
Thanks
Shawn
