mail not being scanned after reboot althought MailScanner was running

As Julian suggested, at the bottom of the page titled;

"MailScanner Installation Guide - Linux RPM"

Sort of RTFM but adapted slightly for the RaQ :-)

/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail stop
chkconfig sendmail off
        chkconfig --level 2345 MailScanner on
        /etc/rc.d/init.d/MailScanner start
