Sounds like a plan to me - can always add in a custom rule later if the SA
flavor doesn't do something it outta.

Having never done it before, let me ask just to be sure: we simply need to
add

        score  HTTP_ESCAPED_HOST  10

to /etc/MailScanner/spam.assassin.prefs.conf and it'll override the default?
