Hi Jody,
If you are running sendmail - as root:
$ mailq
- will show outbound mail queue (mail that has been through MailScanner and
is waiting to be delivered)
and
$ mailq -OQueueDirectory=/var/spool/mqueue.in
- will show messages waiting to be processed by MailScanner.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Steve

Subject: How to flush queue?
Hello,
I've got a redhat 9 machine that filters mail coming in with
MailScanner, and then forwards them on to an Exchange box. Well, that
Exchange server went down last Friday. We finally got it back up and
running yesterday. For most people, mail started flooding in because
mailscanner had been holding on to it. For quite a few people though, no
mail came in. Is there a way to check to see if the mail queue has
flushed completely?
