Seems like I remember people having to start syslogd with the -r option to
get logging to work on the RaQ. Give that a shot

Subject: syslog problem on cobalt raq3

hi
I have just installed Mailscanner with spamassassin and F-prot on a Cobalt
RaQ3, but even though I have set Syslog Facility = mail the logging info is
still passed to the /var/log/messages file.

My syslog.conf says:

# Log anything (except mail) of level info or higher.
# Don't log private authentication messages!
*.info;mail.none;authpriv.none /var/log/messages
# Log all the mail messages in one place.
mail.* /var/log/maillog

Mailscanner shows startup info fine in maillog, but then already when
showing locktype: flock is it in the messages file. All spaminfo is in
messages and only the sendmail lines are in maillog.

does anyone know how to fix this so all mail related is going into the
maillog file?
