Email signing

Well..... None of our lawyers here are IT lawyers however they have been
reading a lot in the legal press from so called IT law experts who are now
saying that you need to at least add reference to the disclaimer at the
beginning of the email. I don't know the details or really care other than
to reduce the flak I am getting. The impression I get is that someone was
taken to court for disclosing confidential info in an email and got off
because they said that they never scrolled down far enough to read the
disclaimer.

Make of that what you will but I still need to find some way of doing this.

Sam

I take it they don't actually deal with the IT area professionally ?
Otherwise they should know that a disclaimer on an email is not legally
binding at all, no matter where you put it, how often or how long it is. The
main reason for using them is as a deterrent or reminder of AUP which in
themselves can carry weight for when staff say that they were "unaware"
