    8.12.x does deliver to clientqueue if i am right, not directly to
    mqueue
    Does that dir have the right perms ?

I think you're right - I know I was slightly wrong as changing the
permissions of mqueue to 750 root:smmsp still won't make it writeable by
anyone other than root.  Had a 'doh!' moment there, sorry!
