MailScanner tries to open a "unix" domain socket to syslogd if it can.
Looks like it can't on your system. The error message can be safely
ignored, MailScanner will still work (it catches that error and carries
on). If you aren't getting any syslogd output from MailScanner in your
logs, then read FAQ number 1 on www.mailscanner.info.
