Because if they happen to have names that sendmail thinks are
"interesting", then it will start reading/writing message from/to them.
It's difficult to define "interesting". It's currently things like "qf" but
that may change in a future version of sendmail so I don't want to rely on it.

Why not just use /var/spool/mqueue.bak instead of /var/spool/mqueue/bak?
