I run MS on several Proliant 1850R with either dual 550's or dual 600's, 1GB of RAM and SCSI RAID.  Works like a champ.  I'd stay
away from IDE drives if at all possible.  Naturally, the more CPU and RAM you have, the better.

Been using mailscanner on our linux server for a while an as we all know

I have client wanting a commercial enterprise e-mail server (to replace
exchange). I would also like it to use mailscanner plus sophos....
