smap and mailscanner

I'm using smap from the TIS firewall toolkit to relay mail to our real mail
server. smap receives the mail, puts it in a spool directory, and then
the smapd-daemon invokes sendmail for delivery.

What is the best way to get mailscanner to work whith this setup, do I
really have to use sendmail instead of smap to listen for email, or is there
some other (easier) way to get the mail to mailscanner?
