Upgrading MailScanner/Sophos

Quick question - am I correct in assuming that upgrading to a new
version of MailScanner (RH 7.2) is simply a case of running "rpm -U" on
the new rpm? Do I need to back up any changed files in the etc
directory or will it back these up?

Sophos - just a case of re-running
/usr/local/MailScanner/bin/Sophos.install on the new Sophos tar bundle?
