This is due to the packages being "bundles" for which it is difficult to 
accurately and consistently read the version number. I would much rather 
slow down the installation slightly than have someone run a broken 
version. I basically don't care about how long the installer takes to 
run, it is something that most people rarely do. How much does it add in 
total? 30 seconds? It's really not worth worrying about.
